A wave of political realignment swept through Onunkwo Uwani as key figures from the Labour Party made a bold return to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) amidst the realization of the Labour Party's precarious footing. Engr. Michael Ezeh, a staunch Labour Party supporter, made a resounding comeback to the PDP during a Ward meeting on Sunday, 19th May, 2024, citing Governor Peter Mbah's transformative vision for Enugu as his motivation.
In his address, Engr. Michael Ezeh acknowledged his previous involvement in the 2023 political clash between the two parties but expressed his newfound commitment to supporting Governor Peter Mbah's agenda for a better Enugu by rejoining the PDP. Engr. Michael Ezeh revealed that several other Labour Party
loyalists have also concluded their plans to switch back to the PDP and will
soon follow suit.
Joining the ranks of returnees, Dr. Onah Chukwuezugo ("Bishop") highlighted his decision to choose the PDP over the Labour Party, drawing from his experiences in both parties. The PDP stakeholders warmly embraced these returning figures, symbolized by the issuance of new membership cards, signaling a significant shift in Enugu's political landscape.
The return of these influential personalities marks a turning point and underscores Hon. Jacob Abonyi's earlier warning about the 
Labour Party's fragile foundation. As the Labour Party faces growing instability, the wise are swiftly seeking refuge in the steadfast People's Democratic Party.
